This popular and thriving Moroccan city is home to the largest Berber market (souk) in the country. The city is divided into two distinct sections, the medina, or old city, and the ville nouvelle, or new city. Narrow passageways and bustling marketplaces characterize the medina, while more modern restaurants, art galleries and shopping outlets are found in the newer district. For a unique experience, visit the Saadian Tombs which lay undiscovered until the 20th century and are remarkably well-preserved. Visit the El Badi Palace for one of the best views in the city.
